CARD ADULT SERVICES

CARD Adults is an extension of services offered by the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD). CARD is one of the world's largest organizations using applied behavior analysis (ABA) in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders.

WHAT IS CARD ADULTS?

The CARD Adult’s program provides adults on the autism spectrum with opportunity, enriched learning environments and positive outcomes. Treatment plans and services for adult clients are created with a single goal in mind: to increase independence.

Services are provided across all settings, including home, CARD centers, workplace and the community, so the adult client can gain the social, vocational, self-help and functional skills they need to lead the most self-sufficient lifestyle possible.

Services will be tailored to the adult and their specific needs, including short and long-term goals. Services include consultation, direct therapy, vocational training or short-term intervention.

WHO CAN BE A CARD ADULT CLIENT?

CARD Adults is dedicated to expanding the scope of ABA services to include individualized comprehensive programing for adults.

  • Individuals who have completed the CARD Teen program or individuals entering treatment at 18 years of age or older.
  • Current or previous diagnosis of autism or related disorder.
  • Adults who seek improvement with relationship building and social skills, as well as pre-employment skills, can benefit from CARD Adults.
  • Adult clients of the CARD Integrated Services (CIS) program will have varying levels of strengths and needs.
  • Some clients may require more intensive support in the areas of behavior management and personal/medical needs.
